Transpersonal Psychology is the branch of psychology that brings the spiritual and energetic aspects of the person together with the mental, emotional and physical aspects. Judy Steele has a Master's degree in Transpersonal Psychology (MTP) from the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology (now Sofia University) in Palo Alto CA. The context in which she works is transpersonal, whether or not that is explicitly addressed in a session.
Judy says, "When I'm working with people, I think in very broad terms about what may be going on with them. I am open to the possibility of past lives' influence as well as what the person's mental, emotional, and physical experience might be right now. If they have a physical illness, it may have a symbolic significance, representing some issue in their lives. And of course, there's this life's history, all the way through from the time they were growing up: what kinds of childhood and adult experiences they've had, what kinds of belief systems they've acquired, what kinds of work experiences and issues they may have. Of course, not all of that will come out in the first session, but when people ask me what kinds of issues I work with, I have to say, "All of them!""
